What will you learn in this advanced-level Bulerías course?
During this advanced-level Bulerías Zoom course, we will work on different resources to deepen your Bulerías dancing and improve your ability to combine them within your dancing.
The work is aimed at students who already have previous experience and are able to tackle more challenging exercises, sequences and choreographies.
Among other things, we work on:
- Footwork technique, progressively increasing the difficulty of the exercises.
- Arm and body exercises to improve coordination and movement quality.
- Bulerías compás with palmas, reinforcing accents and rhythmic awareness.
- Different music and tempos to develop musical awareness and adaptability.
- Marcajes with greater difficulty and different combinations of steps.
- Remates and pataítas, expanding the resources available for dancing Bulerías.
- Ways of walking and moving around to work on entrances, exits and travelling movements.
- Flamenco dance codes and how they are used in Bulerías.
- Improvisation, learning to combine different resources and adapt to the development of the dance.
- Choreographic memory through learning different sequences and choreographies.
- Working with live music, applying the resources learned to singing and guitar.
What are the advanced-level Bulerías classes like?
The classes are structured to continue developing technique and progressively deepen your knowledge of Bulerías.
We start with different dance resources and work on their combination, coordination and application within sequences and choreographies.
Footwork technique and coordination
We work on footwork technique and different arm and body exercises, progressively increasing the difficulty.
The aim is to continue developing the coordination needed to integrate the different elements of the dance.
Compás and palmas
We continue working on Bulerías compás with palmas, reinforcing accents and using different music and tempos.
This work helps develop musical awareness and the ability to recognise and follow the compás while dancing.
Marcajes, remates and pataítas
We work on more challenging marcajes, remates and pataítas, progressively expanding the resources available for dancing Bulerías.
The different sequences are combined to develop more complete dancing and the ability to link one resource to another.
Walking, moving and flamenco dance codes
We also work on different ways of walking and moving, as well as the codes dancers use to communicate during the dance.
Understanding these codes helps you better understand how Bulerías dancing is structured and developed.
Improvisation and choreographic memory
At this level, we place particular importance on the ability to combine different resources and use them within the dance.
As the course progresses, choreographies and sequences are incorporated to continue developing choreographic memory.
Working with live music
The Bulerías work is complemented by live music, guitar and singing, applying the resources and knowledge acquired during the course.

Tips for following Bulerías Zoom classes from home
To practise comfortably, we recommend having enough space to perform the dance exercises and work on your footwork.
It is also useful to have a mirror to check your body alignment, arms and movements while doing the exercises.
For greater comfort when following the classes, you can use a tablet or a screen positioned so that you can clearly see the teacher while dancing.
