2.1 BASIC TECHNIQUES 2 – Basic flamenco dance
This is the second flamenco technique course, essential for dancing correctly. It is necessary to have completed the 1.1 Basic Techniques 1 course before taking this course. The technique courses are the most comprehensive and essential of all our online courses. To understand their importance, just look at the lesson content.
You begin learning from the end of the 1.1 Basic Techniques 1 course, with important concepts such as basic footwork combinations, resistance with strikes, basic arm movements, and strengthening exercises, body twists and hip exercises, and finally, pirouettes and turns.
2.2 COMPÁS TERNARIO Y VARIACIONES – Basic flamenco dance
This course aims to teach you a wide range of resources to put into practice at the Fandango rhythm, in triple time. It’s a simple course where all the concepts are taught step by step.
In addition to gaining greater mastery of time, you’ll strengthen your movement coordination and learn general steps that are very common in dances such as Fandangos, Verdiales, Sevillanas, and even Alegrías and Bulerías. For more information on the subjects taught, we recommend viewing the list of all the course lessons. These lessons include the Basque step with vuelta, la pase, bodorneo, paseillo, and the Sevillana step, among other lessons.
2.3 COREOGRAFÍA – Tangos “Tango de los gitanos” – Basic flamenco dance
With this course, you’ll learn a complete tango choreography.
The choreography is created with great care and attention to detail for my students. You’ll find simple walks, markings, finishes, and footwork that can be applied to any tango piece. You’ll work on movement coordination, memory for linking one step to another, and the smoothness of some steps versus the abruptness of others. In short, it’s a very attractive choreography with many resources that you can use in other choreographies.
2.4 Fandangos Choreography “Por un almendro he sabido”
This choreography puts into practice what you learned in the 2.2 Ternary Compás and Variations course (Resources for Fandangos). It’s a good idea to purchase the course’s theme song: “Por un Almendro He Sabido” by Carmen Linares.
This choreography was created for beginners in the annual flamenco coursesAnnual Courses and performed on stage on several occasions. We’ve included its staging in one of the course lessons, so you can enjoy the live recordings.
This course is specifically designed to help you perform fandango choreography for basic flamenco dancing. It includes basic exercises and steps, including clapping rhythm, various markings, and simple dance moves.

2.5 Alegrias Choreography “Sólo Compás”
This course teaches a complete choreography of Alegrías. Alegrías is a mixed-time flamenco style, a flamenco style traditionally born in Cádiz, which follows a twelve-beat, mixed, or amalgamated rhythm and is notable for its joyful, sensual, and playful character.
This is one of our most extensive courses on basic-level choreography. It lasts a total of 110 minutes. In this course, you gradually learn all the steps that make up the complete dance.
