Fandango Choreography by Camarón – Fandango de Alosno

Flamenco choreography for Fandango to music by Camarón de la Isla. This choreography was created for a beginner level, for students who have been practising flamenco for two or three years.

It contains numerous marking steps and some short endings that can also be used for mixed-compás choreographies. Everything is explained in a simple, clear and slow way for better understanding. The duration of this choreography is 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

The choreography was performed on stage at our 2020 – 2021 end-of-year show. You can watch it in one of the lessons of the course.

Its compás is ternary, with three beats, accentuating number 1 while numbers 2 and 3 are softer. It is the same compás used in Sevillanas.

Fandango de Alosno

Alosno is a small village in Huelva where more than a third of Huelva’s Fandangos originated, which is why it proudly calls itself the “cradle of Fandango”.

Fandango is a style of singing that has undergone a process of aflamencamiento depending on the area where it originated. Although there are other forms of Fandango in different regions of Andalusia, Fandango de Huelva has special characteristics that define it as a distinct group. So much so that recent studies refer to 32 styles of Fandango de Huelva spread across 9 localities: Almonaster la Real, Alosno, Cabezas Rubias, Calañas, Encinasola, El Cerro del Andévalo, Huelva, Santa Bárbara de Casas and Valverde del Camino.

What are the requirements?

• The course is suitable for a beginner level. You do not really need any previous knowledge of flamenco, as the choreography is simple and everything you need to know is explained in the lessons of this course. However, any previous knowledge you may need can be found in Level 1 of our online courses. Access the Online Flamenco Courses
• You will need a pair of Flamenco dance shoes. You can find any of these flamenco products by following this link.
• It would be good to have enough space around you to practise, and it is also advisable to have a mirror.

What will I get with this Fandango de Camarón course?

• This course consists of 12 development lessons and 2 complete dance lessons. In total, you have more than one hour of content.
• You will expand your knowledge of flamenco dance. You will improve and expand your resources in ternary compás.
• The complete dance lasts 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
