Description of the Flamenco Bulerías course

Flamenco Bulerías. This is a fun, modern, and swashbuckling choreography, with lots of pacing around the stage. Its modern and lively feel exudes fun and speed, and our students worked on it for an entire semester until they were able to convey the joy it produces when dancing.

The learning level is advanced and could easily have been level 6 given the speed of the dance. The lessons explain everything clearly and simply, making it suitable for a lower level.

Palo with mixed or amalgamated rhythm, twelve beats.

The song is called “Evolution Revolution” by singer David Palomar.

This choreography was created for the teenage students of the Advanced Level 5, it was worked on in the annual flamenco classes in the year 2024 – 2025. This dance premiered in June 2025 at the Teatro Municipal Pedro Pérez Fernández from Los Palacios y Villafranca.

Structure of this Choreography

In the choreography, there are moments where the choreography is recited without a beat, which gives the performance a very cool touch. You’ll also find variations in poses, turns, typical bulería markings, numerous little kicks, and zapateados with considerable difficulty and speed.

The Bulería beat is mixed-amalgam or a twelve-beat beat, with a high speed and a casual, fun, and cocky character.

The Flamenco Style of Las Bulerías

The bulería is one of the most lively and festive flamenco dances. Its twelve-beat rhythm and fast pace convey joy, strength, and self-confidence. In dance, the bulería allows the artist to express their character with movements full of grace, playfulness, and energy. It is generally a free style, where improvisation and mastery of the rhythm are essential. In the case of this choreography, improvisation does not exist, as it is based on a closed music.
