Choreography for Solea. Course Description
In this Solea course, you’ll learn rhythm, songwriting, and how to dance with reference to that song. It’s a simple, visual, and flamenco choreography.
Aimed at a beginner level, we begin the explanations from scratch, so that the dance’s body awareness, expression, and positioning are developed. We don’t focus too much on complex or difficult-to-execute footwork. Instead, we emphasize the vocals, which are the core of the dance and around which the choreography revolves and develops.
The musical theme is titled “Soleá” by Jesús Méndez, from the album “Voz del Alba”.
After completing the course, we will be able to dance a Soleá, and thus express our strongest feelings, feeling what the palo wants to express, using our body as a tool and language, and the music of the Soleá as inspiration to achieve it.
