Flamenco Course Description: Choreography by Alegrias for Beginners
To learn this choreography by Alegrias for beginners, no prior knowledge of flamenco is necessary.
Alegrías are the most widely danced and popular type of cantiñas. They have a mixed rhythm, meaning twelve beats, and are also medium-speed, neither fast nor slow.
It is a graceful dance, where grace and elegance prevail. It is an open dance, with wide sweeps across the stage, lively movements, and abundant lateral markings and shoulder and hip embellishments.
It was performed by one of our Level 1 annual flamenco course groups. You can enjoy this show brought to the stage in one of the course lessons.

The entire dance lasts 3 minutes and 53 seconds.
The music is “La noche no se me acaba” (The Night Isn’t Over) by Alicia Gil from the album Cantaora de Bareto. It’s beautiful music, both to listen to and to dance to.
What are the requirements?
- No prior knowledge of flamenco is necessary; everything is explained from the beginning.
- It would be a good idea to have some space around you.
- It’s recommended to wear flamenco dance shoes and have a mirror so you can see yourself and correct mistakes. You can get any flamenco product by following this link.
What will I learn in this course?
- This course consists of 13 development lessons and 2 full-length dance lessons. In short, you’ll enjoy over an hour of content.
- You’ll expand your knowledge of flamenco dance, improve your movement coordination and agility, achieve rhythmic and striking choreography, and expand your flamenco skills.
