A detail that will suit you very well

Clothing is essential for dancing and feeling like a flamenco dancer from head to toe.

So at every bachelorette party we organize, we give all the participants a flamenco flower and the bride a small shawl.

The mantoncillo is a typical flamenco accessory worn in various positions on the body, usually around the neck. Our mantoncillo is polka-dotted and red and white, and can sometimes also have black details.

A story made real

Recently, one of my friends decided it was time to settle down. As her best friend, the first thing I recommended was not to do it, but it seems I’m not as convincing as I thought. Anyway, she’s getting married!

Let’s get to work. This is where I come in because my friend’s bachelorette party has to be very special. The fact is, the wedding is imminent, and it’s my responsibility to put together a great party for everyone to enjoy together before the wedding.

Honestly, I’m tired and bored of the same old thing: dinner, boys, disco… For my friend, I want something unique and original, and I came up with the idea of combining Flamenco (something very much ours, with feeling, passion…) with the love I have for my friend. What was the result? You’ll have to find that out for yourself.

The origin of bachelorette parties

The tradition of bachelorette parties varies across cultures and has no specific, well-documented origin. However, this celebration is believed to date back to Roman times, although at that time they were not known as bachelorette parties in the sense we know them today.

In ancient Rome

Single women celebrated a festival called “Floralia” in honor of the goddess Flora, who represented fertility and spring. During this festival, women gathered to share food, drinks, and festive activities. If one of the women was about to get married, she was given special attention and treatment during the celebration.

Throughout the centuries

This tradition evolved and adapted to different cultures and beliefs. In the Middle Ages, for example, bridal showers were held where gifts were exchanged and marriage advice and experiences were shared. Over time, these celebrations culminated in what we now know as bachelorette parties, where the bride’s friends organize a party to celebrate her upcoming wedding and bid farewell to her single life.

Nowadays

Bachelorette parties are fun and social occasions where the bride’s friends and family gather to celebrate and share special moments before her wedding. Activities can include games, dancing, dinners, trips, and even hiring specialized entertainment such as strippers or comedians, depending on preferences and local culture.

It’s important to note that bachelorette parties can vary considerably in different parts of the world and across different cultural communities. The exact tradition and meaning may differ depending on the local context and customs.

We speak in Canal Sur Radio (Andalusia)

In January 2025, we’ll be interviewed by Andalusian public radio. We talk with Jesús Vigorra about bachelorette parties, their evolution, and our academy. It’s a pleasant broadcast because several people share their experiences with bachelorette and bachelorette parties. If you’d like to listen to us, you can find the entire interview here.

Flamenco Hen Party from another point of view

I’m the photographer hired to shoot these Flamenco classes. I’ve been asked to describe my experience and my perspective on my work.

The girls have the most fun sharing the difficulty of learning new steps and coordinating their movements correctly. This unleashes joy in the atmosphere, and the laughter and giggles are hard to contain. Little by little, you can see how the group is learning, and the gratification of performing a complete choreography together is reflected on their faces. My job is simply to capture this feeling in several photographs.

It’s easy to get good photos when the atmosphere is so fun; you just have to let yourself go.
