About us

Spread Flamenco throughout the world

We are Flamenco

A flamenco school in Seville, Spain. To reach the world, we use three paths:

1. ONLINE COURSES

Courses with recorded lessons. Learn from anywhere.

2. ZOOM COURSES

Live flamenco courses with organized recordings.

3. PRESENTIAL COURSES

Courses that are developed between the student and the teacher face to face.

Estudio Flamenco Sevilla opened in 2011 with Esther Vélez as its director.

After a long career on flamenco stages and tablaos around the world, Esther decided to dedicate herself to teaching with this project. She graduated in Dance and Flamenco Pedagogy from the Conservatorio Superior de Danza de Málaga in 2011. Her experience, both artistic and teaching, guarantees success in learning.

Our school has a clear objective: to spread flamenco throughout the world. Dance, singing, guitar playing, and percussion are offered to both beginners and professionals.

Online Training Project

This project was launched in early 2015 with the aim of teaching flamenco to students who were unable to learn in person. It also caters to those students who wanted to complement their training with that already available at their place of residence. We wanted the project to be carried out from beginner to professional levels, and to do so, we drew on our real-life experience at our physical school in Seville.

The annual work of the different learning groups we have at the school was carried out online. We used daily practice and the most common mistakes students make to convey them in our lessons for each online course. We like to get to know each student and follow their progress, so we review videos they send us and make corrections. We continue to work continuously to expand and strengthen our program with improvements.

Teaching

Regarding teaching, we have taught classes at the Royal Conservatory of Dance in Seville and at numerous dance schools around the world. Intensive courses both in Spain and abroad, and masterclasses with guest artists. Our intention is to share all our knowledge and experience and spread flamenco throughout the world, at all levels and ages.

Stage Experience

We have had the opportunity to tour stages all over the world. Among other countries, we have worked in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Kuwait, Dubai, the United States, Mexico, Japan, and China. We have shared the stage with flamenco greats such as Juan Manuel Cañizares, Manuel de Paula, Esperanza Fernández, Manuela Carrasco, Rocío Molina, Belén Maya, Rafaela Carrasco, among others.

Our teachers have been part of major flamenco companies such as the Andalusian Dance Company, Cristina Hoyos Company, Eva la Yerbabuena Company, Aída Gómez Company, and Andrés Marín Company. We have also participated in flamenco festivals, including the Seville Biennial, the Jerez Festival, the White Night of Córdoba, and many more.

Our school’s teaching staff have completed their careers in tablaos in Seville, Granada, Madrid, and Barcelona (El Arenal, Los Gallos, El Patio Sevillano, Palacio Andaluz, Casa de la Memoria, Cueva de la Rocío, Los Tarantos, El Albaicín, Café de Chinitas, Casa Patas, Corral de la Morería, and El Cordobés).
