The comp\u00e1s and clapping course is essential to understand flamenco dance. All dances are based on a type of time signature and knowing them is essential to be able to dance correctly.<\/p>\n
In this course you will learn the rhythm of the most danced flamenco styles.<\/p>\n
We begin with the ternary comp\u00e1s, the fandango and the sevillanas. Later you will learn the binary compass on which the important palos such as tangos, rumbas or tientos are based. Finally, the mixed comp\u00e1s is taught, which is the most complicated, since its structure is 12 beats and with different accents depending on the flamenco styles. This course is not choreography, but rather it teaches you to dance without defined steps. It gives you the tools to be able to use your resources to the beat of the rumba. We introduce you to the rhythm of the rumba, which is binary or four-beat, we teach you what its main clapping touch is and how to apply them in different rumbas.<\/p>\n
We explain in detail the composition of the structure: both the “wheels” of the Flamenco Rumbas and the “phrases” of four, eight or twelve measures.<\/p>\n

It’s time to put what you’ve learned into practice. Tango is a binary compass style, for which I recommend starting with learning Flamenco. It is one of the easiest flamenco styles to understand.<\/p>\n
