Fandango Dance. Course Description \u2013 Ternary Comp\u00e1s<\/h2>\n

This flamenco comp\u00e1s course is primarily designed to teach many resources for Fandango Dance. It is a course explained in a simple way where all the concepts are taught step by step. It is aimed at students with limited technical knowledge and very basic understanding of the ternary comp\u00e1s. The ternary comp\u00e1s is a three-beat rhythm and is the easiest to learn among flamenco styles (palos).<\/p>\n

Your understanding of the ternary comp\u00e1s will be reinforced with this course as I introduce you to basic steps and variations suited to this rhythm. You\u2019ll be able to apply these steps later in different choreographies, including Fandangos, Alegr\u00edas, and other palos.<\/p>\n

In addition to gaining greater mastery of the comp\u00e1s, you will strengthen your coordination and learn general steps that are commonly used in dances such as Fandangos, Verdiales, Sevillanas, and even Alegr\u00edas and Buler\u00edas. Some of these steps appear in Sevillanas choreographies, such as the pase\u00edllos<\/em>, pasada<\/em> or panaderos<\/em>, paso vasco<\/em>\u2026<\/p>\n

What are the requirements?<\/h2>\n

This is a beginner-level course, although not for absolute beginners. You should have at least a basic understanding of flamenco footwork exercises, body positioning, and movements of the arms, hips, and basic turns. You can acquire all this knowledge through our course 1.1 Basic Techniques 1<\/strong><\/a>, and 1.2 Comp\u00e1s and Palmas<\/strong><\/a>, which is also highly recommended.
You\u2019ll need space to perform many of the exercises.
It would be very beneficial to have music with only ternary comp\u00e1s (e.g., fandangos), or to use a metronome so you can practice with a solid rhythmic foundation. It is important that the steps and variations stay in comp\u00e1s.
Using flamenco dance shoes and having a mirror to watch yourself and correct mistakes is recommended. You can find any flamenco product by following [this link].<\/p>\n
